The 6th Element

The New Rebellion Has Begun
Yall better watch out, Poorhouse Projekts are coming and theyre going to change the way you view hip hop. A multicultural collective of young artists, Poorhouse Projekts is made up of four very talented Angelinos. Their founder Bambu, who recently rele ased his debut LP Self Untitled, is not just an emcee but also a powerful representative for the people. His passion for social justice is evident in every verse that he spits on his record. The young Watts native has put out this years first truly thought-provoking album. However, while the record is intellectually stimulating, Bambu never tries to go over the head of the listener. His manner of communicating through his raps is such that everyone can understand and feel where he is coming from. With so much insipid music plaguing the world of hip hop at this time, Bambus Self Untitled is a welcomed change.
Alfie Ebojo, the only female member of the group, is a spoken word artist who has had her poetry featured on a pair of compilation albums. The Alfadesiacs (Alfies alter ego) style of spoken word is a smooth, jazzy blend of her sultry voice and an amazing knack for word play. A true wordsmith, Alfie has the ability to captivate audiences in any venue she sets foot in.
Rounding out the group are two very talented, up and coming emcees whose styles will make any hip hop head stand up and take notice. Faniks and Ashkan, who are both featured on Bambus Self Untitled LP. are currently working on their own independent projects. Ashkan is set to release his solo LP Ashkan Presents
Who Knows and the Eternal Question sometime in the very near future while Faniks is set to begin recording for his debut album soon.
Poorhouse Projekts is a well-rounded representation of the Los Angeles hip hop culture in both their diversity as human beings as well as their styles of music. For more information on Bambu and the rest of the Poorhouse Projekts log onto www.poorhouseprojekts.com.
