Advertising An End To Blood Sports The Saint Martin's Animal Foundation begins a new ad campaign to counter the growing epidemic of dog fighting in Los Angeles. Using a series of billboards featuring gorgeous female models and a hotline number to tip Animal Regulations, the group hopes to reach the young teenage males who breed dogs for fighting or take pleasure in watching this vicious bloodsport. Additional billboards will depict handsome young male athletes to provide a counter-example to the macho attitude involved in dog fighting, and billboards showing volunteer children hugging dogs rescued from fights to tug at the heart-strings of everyone. The group's goal is to reduce the number of dog fights taking place in the city. Dog fights have been linked to gang activity, drugs and guns. This year alone, over a million animals will have to be destroyed because they were taught to be aggressive. For more information and to find out how you can help, or for assistance with any animal-related need, call: 818-771-8750. -BC
