Vardy invades Moteaze!
By Kenney McCulloch, Esq.

Moteaze Salon and Gallery celebrated its 2nd anniversary last week with the 10th installment of "Where Art Meets Hair." Featuring a solo showing of 12 new works by fantasy surrealist Ronny Vardy, the event drew a large crowd of NoHo and Burbank hipsters and art lovers. Host Moti entertained the well groomed crowd, (and by groomed, I do mean hair- many guests were of course, clients of the salon,) while featured artist Vardy flitted through the crowd, selling dozens of prints and an original painting or two.
Since it's inception in October of 1999, Moteaze Salon and Gallery has been a driving force in the visual arts scene in the NoHo Arts District. In the past two years, gallery curator and NoHo>LA columnist, Anthony McBride has provided the only consistent exhibition space open to area artists. A list of past exhibitors reads as a who's who of local artists: Susan Krieg, Dan Wooster, Dover Abrams and Mindy and Candace Allen, to name a few, have all been featured in solo shows, and many more in group and theme shows.
Moteaze Art & Hair Salon 4009 West Magnolia Blvd., Tues-Sun. Ronny Vardy's artwork will be on display through the month of December. 818-562-1754.
