 Hunk of the Month Johnny Diaz Reyes makes a comedic and very un-stereotypical debut in the new indie sci-fi comedy Lipgloss Explosion. Born in the small Californian desert city of Blythe, Johnny left for Los Angeles at age 19 to pursue a career as a social worker. After getting caught up in the heavy party lifestyle of the big city, Johnny refocused his goals and decided to pursue a less emotionally demanding career. He enrolled in beauty school and decided to lay low for awhile as a hair and make-up artist. After being offered to do make-up on indie film director Stephanie Bulgarino’s Flattered, Johnny met up with cult film director Chris Morrissey at the cast party. Chris immediately picked up on Johnny’s kooky personality and offered him the male leading role in his second feature film, Lipgloss Explosion. Never having acted before, Johnny trusted Morrissey’s instincts and accepted the challenge. Since the screening of the film, Johnny has gotten several offers from other indie film directors to work on their projects, and will team up again with Morrissey on his third feature film, which starts production in November. - AS |
